Players Representatives & Executive Committee

The strength of the PHPA has always been built on the leadership of its Player Representatives, who serve as the vital link between the Association and their teams. These leaders advocate for their fellow players, work collaboratively with coaches and team management, and provide guidance and support to teammates throughout their professional careers.

Meet the PHPA's Executive Committee and Player Representatives from across the AHL and ECHL, and learn how their leadership helps shape, strengthen, and advance the Association on behalf of its members.

The PHPA Executive Committee provides leadership, direction, and oversight on matters that impact the Association and its AHL and ECHL membership. The Committee is made up of elected and appointed player leaders who represent the interests of professional hockey players and help guide the PHPA's strategic priorities.

Elected Executive Committee members serve three-year terms, while appointed members serve one-year terms. At the conclusion of each term, members are eligible to participate in the Association's formal election process, which takes place during the PHPA Annual Meeting of Player Representatives each June.

At the beginning of each season, every ECHL team elects one player to serve as its PHPA Player Representative and two players to serve as Alternate Representatives. Together, they form the vital link between the PHPA and their teammates, serving as the primary liaison between the Association and the team. They advocate for players' interests, foster open communication with coaches and team management, and provide guidance, support, and leadership to teammates—helping ensure members are informed, represented, and connected throughout the season.
